I used to use amanda on DLTs a long time ago, but not with AFS. It has good tape management and uses widely available (hence recoverable) dump or tar. I don't know whether you would back up the files in AFS, or backup the volumes from the system file system. I guess I can only say that I liked amanda. I'll go to sleep now. Later, Jason C. Wells
